Why colonising Kepler-22b is a bad idea?

(Yes, I haven't posted in a while, and I just had to get this off my chest, after saying it aloud so many times).

A few days ago, they discovered a planet that's supposedly in the "inhabitable zone" of the Kepler-22 system. Scientists started to say that it has the conditions for life (as they know it) to exist. As obvious of earthlings, they started to say that they could colonise the planet Keppler-22b in the future.

Oh, wait, have they considered that it might not be such a good idea? let's see why I'm against it.

1. First, look at this picture and compare the sizes of these planets:

As you can see, planet Kepler-22b is more than twice as big as earth, which means that it has more mass and therefore, gravitation is more brutal. Sorry, earthlings, but the same way the Selenites from The First Men in the Moon would be too fragile for earth's gravity, you'd be too fragile for that planet's. Heck, even I, in my alien form, couldn't resist it! I'd have to eat a lot, and very often, just to keep defying it to some tolerable degree.

2. Colonising a new planet? Seriously? You earthlings turned this planet in a hellhole, multiplying like Guinea pigs and trashing everything, and now want to go and do the same to other parts of the Universe? Pfft! the definition of cancer suits your race very well. You should stay confined to this planet, and shouldn't even own it anymore.

So yes, the idea of earthlings colonising that planet is a very bad idea.

Prohibido usar el cerebro

Hace par de días, en clase, una de mis compañeras me dijo que yo "debería estar estudiando Medicina porque soy muy inteligente para estar en Cosmetología". Eso fue después de que yo hiciera una aclaración en clase durante un repaso para examen. ¿Perdón? ¿Desde cuándo uno se tiene que dedicar a algo sólo porque uno es supuestamente inteligente? ¿Y desde cuándo hay que tener un límite en el IQ para estudiar Cosmetología? Primero no soy una genio ni lo sé todo; si fuera así, estuviera ganando dinero a granel y no hubiera tenido que recurrir a estudiar otra vez a ver si complemento y/o salgo mejor. Eso sí, me gusta leer sobre distintas cosas y he retenido algunas de las que aprendí en la escuela. Segundo, yo me inclino más por lo artístico, odio los hospitales, detesto bregar con sangre y en Medicina tengo que arreglarme de forma conservadora y aburrida, sin mechones de colores ni cada uña de un color. Tercero, Cosmetología complementa mejor el Diseño de Modas que la Medicina o la Enfermería.

No es mi fucking culpa que en este país se le dé más énfasis a las idioteces como la farándula y los reality shows, y que la gente tenga un vocabulario cada vez más limitado. Tampoco es mi culpa que la población general, sean gringuitos o inmigrantes, les tengan alergia a los libros que no digan Twilight en la portada.
Aquí cabe decir que la pendeja del comentario, a pesar de ser bilingüe, cuando habla inglés dice la palabra "like" bastante seguido, igual que una gringa valley girl cabecihueca. Si quieren ser brutos, séanlo, pero lo que me molesta es que uno sea el raro sólo porque a uno le guste leer libros y otras cosas que no sean revistas de farándula o noveluchas de pacotilla, y tenga la capacidad de poder pensar por uno mismo y retener lo que uno aprende. También me molesta (mejor dicho, me JODE) que el ser "inteligente" parezca no servir de nada bueno en esta sociedad, sólo para que la gente mainstream te eche a un lado, te hagan sentir menos que la mierda y estar pendientes a que cometas el más mínimo error. Esto va en camino a ser Idiocracy.
